ABS sensor
ABS staat voor ‘anti-locking braking system’. Dit remsysteem heeft als taak om een blokkade van de wielen van het voertuig bij het remmen te voorkomen. Iedere auto met een ABS systeem, heeft ook een ABS sensor. De sensor meet de wielsnelheid. Bij het remmen past de ABS de remkracht op ieder wiel aan naar de snelheid en de remkracht en voorkomt daarbij dat de wielen blokkeren.
Een van de problemen die vaak voorkomen is dat de sensoren vuil raken, waardoor ze niet goed meer kunnen meten. Als dit zo is, gaat het ABS lampje op het dashboard branden. Soms kan het schoonmaken van de ABS sensor genoeg zijn en zal het lampje weer uitgaan. Soms kan het ook zijn dat je sensor defect is, dit kan bijvoorbeeld veroorzaakt worden door de grote hitte, vuil en vocht waaraan de sensoren worden blootgesteld.
